Nori, well known from Japanese cuisine, is especially famous as the wrapping for sushi rolls – but Nori also tastes excellent on its own or as a delicate seasoning in many dishes. Scientifically, it belongs to the genus Porphyra.
Nori has long been known in Europe too: in Wales, it is used under the name laver for the traditional “laver bread,” a dark, savory seaweed loaf often served at breakfast. This dish is affectionately called “the caviar of the Welsh.”
Our Nori comes pre-chopped, making it easy to sprinkle over salads, rice, potato, or pasta dishes. It’s also delicious as a snack.
