The use of Dulse seaweed as food was first mentioned in writing by an Irish monk over 1400 years ago. Today, laver is primarily harvested and consumed in Ireland, Iceland, and the Atlantic coasts of Canada and the USA. Laver has been gaining popularity since the books by Anthony William.
