These Uganda raw cocoa beans have a beautiful dark color. The taste is floral and fruity and at the same time a little nutty. They also have a very crunchy consistency. They are ideal for eating raw. Just like raw cocoa nibs, these cocoa beans grown by small farmers can also be used to make chocolate, drinking chocolate and smoothies.
Cocoa beans are usually available unpeeled. These beans are hand-peeled on site and give local farmers an additional source of income in addition to just growing them.

Cultivation in Uganda
These beans come from the region of the legendary Mountains of the Moon in Uganda, in the heart of Africa. A mild highland climate and fertile soils provide ideal conditions for growing cocoa, Arabica coffee and vanilla. The cocoa is grown organically by small farmers on their own farms in mixed crops. The local producers buy the fresh cocoa beans and ferment them themselves, thus managing to produce an exceptionally aromatic and fruity cocoa from the Forastero-Trinitario blend. The project is both organic and Fair for Life certified.
